Facebook launches a new tool that allows users to share images on Google Photos

The new image transfer tool will let users copy all their photos and videos from Facebook to Google Photos, and eventually other social networking sites. Facebook has launched a new photo-sharing tool that allows users to share their Facebook photos directly on to other web-based services freeing users from the hassle of uploading the same image to various services separately. The social media giant has piloted its new tool in Ireland where as a part of the testing phase it is allowing users to share their Facebook photos and videos directly directly on to Google Photos. The company plans to roll out this tool to its users across the globe in the first half of 2020. If you are a Facebook user living in Ireland, you can access the company's new tool in the Facebook settings within Your Facebook Information. You can also download your information from the same section of the Facebook app.

Facebook says that it has had discussions with policymakers, regulators, academics, advocates from the UK and Germany to Brazil and about what data should be portable and how can the company ensure that the user privacy is protected when enabling data transfers.
