21 Indian celebs, politician, businessman and sports persons donates to fight COVID-19 pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought the world down to its knees. Not only developing countries like India, even the developed nations like the US are struggling to keep up with the speed at which the deadly disease is spreading. Given the trying times we are in, several renowned personalities from the Indian film industry have come forward to help those in need. Here's a comprehensive list of actors, famous personalities, businessman and ordinary people also from India, who are playing good samaritans and helping their countrymen fight the pandemic.

1). The Tata Trusts and Tata Group yesterday committed Rs 1,500 crore for related work and to protect and empower all affected communities. Funds worth Rs 500 crores that has been committed by Tata Trusts will be used for personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel on the frontlines, respiratory systems for treating increasing number of COVID-19 cases, testing kits to per capital testing, setting up modular treatment facilities for infected patients, knowledge management and training of health workers and the general public, the group said in a statement.

2). Hrithik Roshan to step up for those in need and make a significant contribution to help fight the crisis. Roshan sent out a tweet, announcing that he had procured N95 and FFP3 masks for the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) workers and other caretakers.

3). Veteran actress, Hema Malini, who is also the BJP MP from Mathura, released a whopping amount of Rs 1 crore from the MPLADS (Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme) funds for countering the virus.

4). Actor-politician Sunny Deol, who is known for his popular roles in films like 'Gadar- Ek Prem Katha' and 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', announced a donation of Rs 50 lakh from his MPLADS fund. The Gurdaspur MP will use the funds for buying necessary medical equipment needed to fight the virus. "I am withdrawing Rs 50 lakh from MPLADS fund so Gurdaspur doesn't have to face difficulty fighting this pandemic," Deol wrote on Twitter.
