Why is Lord Shiva worshipped for Sixteen Mondays?
When the child grew up, he desired to become the king of a nation and worshipped Lord Shiva for sixteen Mondays to fulfill his wish. When his vow was complete, a messenger came from another King asking whether he might like to join with his daughter to become his wife. He was very happy when he heard of this proposal, and he immediately consented. The King died just a short time following the marriage and the young man inherited the throne.
