For safe lighting, place a battery-operated LED tea light inside rather than a real flame. Choose colours that complement your existing décor, or use patterned paper for a more detailed look.

Keep the jar on a stable surface, away from the edge of a shelf. Avoid using a real candle inside a decorated jar, especially if paper, fabric, or other flammable materials are nearby.

If you enjoy colourful décor, try making a small lantern using a cardboard frame covered with fabric or decorative paper. Add beads or tassels along the bottom edge for texture and movement.




Choose lightweight materials and secure them carefully so nothing falls into the prayer area. A combination of gold, cream, and deep red can create a traditional festive appearance, while pastel colours offer a softer, modern feel.




These lanterns work well as decorative accents beside the puja unit or on a nearby console table.




5. Arrange Lighting With Care

Keep the area around the idol or prayer items tidy, and make sure decorations do not block access to anything you use during पूजा. If you use real diyas, place them on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never leave them burning unattended. Keep flames away from curtains, flowers, paper, and fabric.
