The Robot Restaurant, which opened in 2012, could be straight out of an Arthur C. Clarke novel. Far up north in Harbin in the Heilongjiang province of Northeast China, 20 robots cook meals and serve dishes to patrons. The robots which range in height from 1.3 to 1.6 metres and can work continuously for five hours after a two-hour charge.
